Now that our social distancing guidelines have been extended until April 30th we wanted to continue to update you with some new tips! 

Physical

  • Life Fitness has shared their resources to help you stay healthy and fit while we all continue to work from home.  

    • Free Virtual Workouts of the Day.  By clicking this link, users will have access to free virtual workout programs that are suitable for all fitness levels

  • Keeping your nutrition on track during these times can help you sleep better, feel better, and stay in a better mood.  Make sure you have a plan to avoid boredom and stress eating.  One easy tip is to map your meals ahead of time.  How many meals or snacks to do you need per day?   

  • Have you finally discovered that package of egg noodles that you bought and shoved in the back of your cabinet?  Use Supercook to find recipes that you can make with the ingredients you already have at home. 

Occupational

  • Five tips on working from home with children.

  • Learn some new Microsoft Office skills.

  • Take this time to make sure you're all caught up on your professional certifications, and continuing education credits.

Intellectual

  • Google has partnered with more than 1200 cultural institutions from around the world to archive and document priceless pieces of art and to provide virtual tours of museums. Explore what they have to offer!

  • Crash Course is a YouTube channel that offers educational videos suitable for H.S students.

Social

Environmental

  • During this unprecedented time, Green City Market is connecting consumers directly with local family farmers and artisans who are able to offer pick-up/delivery services to bring nutritious, sustainably-grown food directly to the people of Chicago.Help support our local farmers.

Spiritual

  • Think positively.  Find the silver lining to social distancing. Increased quality time with loved ones, you can actually take the time to learn a new skill, etc.

  • Virtually explore five or our National Parks 

Emotional

  • Please take a moment to look over this Harvard Business Review article about "Emotional Overdrive"  

  • Please remember to take care of yourself. With some tips for mental health wellness:

    • Reach out to others once daily for 30 mins.  Connect with others to seek and provide support.  ​

    • Take a daily break from the news and social media.  Getting bombarded from all angles with Coronavirus updates can be overwhelming and anxiety inducing.

Keep your head up, world.  We'll get through this.
