Staying Balanced During Chaos

These are crazy times, and it has never been more important to be holistically well. You may be practicing self-distancing and finding yourself putting others first. However, it is important that you tend to your needs as well.

At CA, we believe wellness is comprised of seven pillars. In calm times, it can be a challenge to keep all seven pillars full and balanced, so during times of literal pandemic, we’ve provided some quick tips below to help you be well.
But first, take a deep breath.
Then pull an idea or two each day from our tips below.
Physical

Make a plan to get up and walk around for 5 mins every hour

I know many of us may have already eaten through our quarantine snacks…

Try to make a snacking choice that is less than 200 calories, less than 200mg of sodium and less than 10g of sugar.

If you’re religious continue to respect and honor your beliefs. If this means attending services look into some online alternatives.

Occupational

If you’re working from home, make sure that you are an active participant during your normal work hours. Working from home is a skill that needs to be developed.

Pick up the phone and check in with a loved on

Take the initiative and set up a time for a virtual meet up with your friends centered around something fun and random. Keep the conversation light!
Emotional

CorePower is offering free classes online while their studios are closed

Take a moment to find the silver lining every day. Extra kudos if you find a creative way to say hello to someone you might not normally interact with!
Intellectual

Take this time to learn a hobby you’ve been putting off

Want to learn a new language? Check out Duolingo in the app store

Once you finish Love is Blind or The Circle on Netflix check out their documentaries to expand your horizons!
Environmental

Natural light is your friend! If you’re able to open those windows and blinds to allow some fresh air!

Take this extended amount of home time to de-clutter and dust. Getting rid of those airborne allergens will help improve the quality of air circulating in your house.
